Sunny days Sunny days 117 “It’s very common for those with eating disorders to be perfectionists. Learning how to let imperfections in, in all areas of your life will help loosen the grip.” The therapist says. “I’m not a perfectionist. I don’t need to be perfect. I know I can never be and I’m okay with that.” Aaron says. “You have near perfect grades while running a successful business. You get prestigious internships, you starve yourself.” The therapist says. “I work hard at everything. I don’t obsess. Seriously, I have friends, I have a life, a boyfriend. I’m not one of those psycho girls who starve themselves because they never got attention or whatever. My mom and I have a great relationship.” Aaron says. “I’m just pointing out that you’re not so different from anyone else here. You share a lot of traits and group therapy is an integral part of the program that you voluntarily signed up to.” The therapist says. “I lost weight because I was sick.” Aaron says. “All physical reasons for your inability to gain weight have been ruled out and it’s time to work on the mental side.

Aaron, we’re not here to catch you out, we’re here to help. You’re here to get help.” The therapist says. “I guess so.” Aaron sighs. “Once more.” Ocean giggles rubbing up against Blue. “You are sexy and stunning and utterly insatiable but I cannot go again.” Blue laughs. “Me either but I can wish. I best shower and get to training.” Ocean sighs. “You don’t need to do any cardio today.” Blue laughs. “You are better than any cardio. I love you Blue.” Ocean grins. “I love you too. See you at dinner. I best go and take Sunny out.” Blue says. Blue runs the beautiful trail from Ocean’s room to Will’s house. It is freezing and snow is threatening but he doesn’t notice, too warm from his time with Ocean. Blue stops and takes in the glorious air and his surroundings and wonders if he could live here. Then pushes the thought out his head, Ocean needs to be focused and Blue knows he needs to live with his friends. A couple of hours later Will gets back, Blue tries not to look disappointed. “He has to go through recovery, ice bath, massage.” Will says.

“I’m sorry. Gosh I am so rude using your place to see my new man.” Blue says. “It’s fine. It’s nice to see you and Sunny and I’m okay with it now. I was seeing someone, it didn’t work out but I have moved on. I would have hated you to go to a hotel again.” Will says and Blue’s phone beeps repeatedly. Blue looks at it and sighs. “What’s the issue?” Will asks. “Liam is worried that Aaron’s mom has kidnapped Aaron and sent him to food rehab.” Blue says and explains the whole story. “Sounds like Liam is right, Aaron’s mom would not leave Liam alone for the holidays if she had an alternative.” Will says. “I feel so guilty, I knew he wasn’t right but ignored it. Well not ignored I cooked for him and tried to entice him to eat.” Blue says. “Aaron is not your responsibility. He really is an adult who can take care of himself. He has a mom who can step in too and she has. He isn’t your job. But I am confused as to why Liam is bothering you about it and why Chris hasn’t been dealing with it.” Will says. “Chris is working a lot.

” Blue says. “Chris’s boyfriend is probably in a treatment center and he doesn’t give a shit you mean.” Will says. “Will, I expect he is trying not to worry.” Blue says. “It’s not so long ago you were trying to starve yourself to death. Chris was too busy fucking Larry to help.” Will says. “Chris took care of me.” Blue says. “I’m just saying you were far sicker than Aaron, you were so undernourished your brain was a total fog and Chris didn’t get you treatment. His boyfriend, is heading the same way and he hasn’t exactly helped.” Will says. “You make him sound like a monster. He isn’t. I was alone when I wasn’t eating and I am better now.” Blue says. “I know, mentally you are the healthiest you’ve ever been. The same can’t be said of your siblings.” Will says. “You always like to cut me off from people.” Blue says. “I tried to protect you from your family, who bleed you dry.” Will says. “We’ll never see eye to eye on my family.” Blue says. “No, I don’t suppose we will. When Ocean retires, he’ll do the same.

He loves you and he hates all who take advantage of you.” Will says. “That is true.” Ocean says coming through the door. “You were quick, did you skimp on something. You know recovery is as important as your workout.” Will says. “The guys let me go first at everything. I told you Blue’s visit wouldn’t have a negative impact.” Ocean says. “It has been good for all of us.” Will smiles. “Dinner? I made some frozen yogurt so Ocean can have dessert.” Blue says. “I’d rather have cheesecake.” Ocean says. “In seven months.” Will says. “Spoilsport.” Ocean says giggling. “I know you’ll be mad but I broke things off with Jun. I wanted to tell you myself because I don’t want it to be an issue between us.” Evan says to Jeff. “Are you and Liam making a go of it?” Rosamie asks. “Yes, we are.” Evan says and can’t help but smile. “Good, you two are great together.” Rosamie says. “Why did you bother with Jun? If Liam was right there?” Jeff asks. “I wanted someone more stable, someone who understands this world, someone who understands the gay world.

Liam is hard work and I never thought it could work between us, however I felt about him.” Evan says. “So, what changed?” Jeff asks genuinely curious, as his wife isn’t mad, he’s not bothered by the breakup. “I thought my friends were being total twatturnips to Jun at Thanksgiving. But they weren’t, they were trying to protect him, from me and my feelings for Liam. They were asking why he bothered with me when I was in to someone else. And I asked myself that. And I couldn’t come up with a reason that didn’t make Jun some sort of starfucker or gold-digger. And Liam for all his faults loves me for me. And I love him, for him.” Evan says that look filling his face. “Jesus, the mouth on you.” Jeff laughs. “What?” Evan asks. “You never curse on the field. And here you are, causal chat in front of my wife and the bombs are falling left and right.” Jeff laughs. “Has Jun threatened you?” Rosamie asks. “Has he done this before? Jeff how could you set me up with him if you knew he would threaten to blackmail me?” Evan asks. “Whoa, I had no idea. Rosamie?” Jeff asks.

“Jun doesn’t take breakups well. He won’t do anything. He’s all hot air, comes over all gangster.” Rosamie says. “Well to let you both know, if he does try anything I will go straight to the police. I don’t think I have any secrets. Not any that would end my career.” Evan says. “It won’t come to that. You have my word. Evan, for what it’s worth, I adore Liam and I hope you will both be very happy. He’s special, the way he was with our son this summer. I will make sure Jun doesn’t try anything stupid.” Rosamie says. “Thanks, and I am sorry I messed him about.” Evan says. “You didn’t. You’ve been upfront the whole time and ended it not dragged things out.” Rosamie says. “Yeah you’ve been way better than his past boyfriends. Look Evan, don’t sweat it. I’m not going to hold it against you, took balls coming to see me today. And I have learned my lesson, never ever set up my team mates.” Jeff laughs and the pair shake hands. “Thanks. I am sorry about everything.” Evan says. “Did it go okay?” Liam asks when Evan gets back.

“Yeah, and they promised to keep Jun under control. I think Rosamie had kept a few things about her brother from her husband.” Evan says. “I’m glad it’s all working out for you honey.” Liam says and kisses his man, love has softened every edge. “I missed you.” Evan says running his hands down Liam’s sides. “I told you, I am a traditional boy, no sex until the third date.” Liam giggles. “We’ve had a dozen dates, and we had sex this morning, and three times last night.” Evan giggles. The pair kiss and tear each other’s clothes off. They are enjoying every second of the honeymoon period and every inch of each other. Aaron looks around the group therapy circle and tries not to scratch his eyes out. What kind of place has his mom got him stuck in? So much whining. Aaron wants to keep his head down, gain some weight and get out. He does not want to talk about his feelings with a bunch of strangers. Still he has to make an effort or he can’t get his phone back. “Aaron.” One of the therapists calls out as the session breaks up. “Don’t tell me, I’ll only get out what I put in.

” Aaron says. “Exactly, this will be easier if you drop the hostility.” The therapist says. “I just don’t see me having some kind of breakthrough. I guess I am a total cliché and I can’t see that I have a problem. I know I have an issue with eating, my weight is fucking terrible. I want to change that. I just don’t think there is some underlying cause. No deep-rooted issues.” Aaron says. “Just be a bit more open. You might surprise yourself.” The therapist says. “You know I have spent a year trying to get my boyfriend in to therapy and here I am instead.” Aaron snorts. “Maybe that is something to explore. Write down other things in your life you can’t control and let’s explore them tomorrow.” The therapist says. Aaron nods and heads to dinner. Chris gets in from work and remembers he’s alone. He tries to call Aaron but straight to voicemail. He calls Liam. “Did you hear from Aaron yet?” Chris asks. “Oh, now you show an interest. No, but he’s mom told me he’s fine and he’ll be in touch when he can. You know she’s totally put him in treatment.

” Liam says. “No, he would have said.” Chris says. “Well he didn’t. You know Chris, I thought you of all people would care when your boyfriend disappeared one day. I mean that is exactly what you did all those years ago. I really don’t think you give a shit about Aaron.” Liam snaps. “I trust him and I know he’ll be in touch when he can and you are a total fucking cunt comparing him being on a road trip with his mom for a few days with my being forced to leave my home and college.” Chris snaps and hangs up. “Babe, you okay?” Evan asks seeing the tension. “I wish I was taller so I could punch him in the face,” Liam says. “Come massage me and take out your anger on my back knots.” Evan grins. “You are such a manipulative little slut.” Liam giggles, remembering it is all true, Evan is his. “You drive me to it.” Liam says. The pair have a whole lot more fun and sleep late, worries forgotten. Liam is checking his messages the next morning, hoping to have something from Aaron. “Holy fucking shit. The little turd thinks he can go after me. Fucking wankwaffle.” Liam says.

“What?” Evan asks sleepily. “Jun, he’s going to try and blackmail me not you.” Liam laughs. “What has he got on you?” Evan asks.
