Our mission is to is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice. The London International Development Centre (LIDC) was established in 2008 and is a formal inter-Collegiate collaboration, with the objective of developing inter-College, interdisciplinary research and training programmes on critical issues in international development. Under LIDC, the London Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH) was developed in 2010 (and until July 2019 was called the Leverhulme Centre), with funding from the Leverhulme Trust, to build a new intersectoral and interdisciplinary platform for integrating research in agriculture and health, with a focus on international development goals. The Centre brings together researchers from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), Royal Veterinary College (RVC) and City University of London (City), and their partners, to develop research approaches and methodologies that integrate agricultural and health research.

    The post holder will manage the day-to-day administrative, financial communications functions of the centre, supporting the LCIRAH Chair, Prof Jeff Waage. A principle activity will be the organization of monthly meetings of the Management Committee and Team, and associated presentations and workshops. The post holder will also support members of the LCIRAH Management Committee and provide assistance to the LCIRAH Team, who include academics, postdoctoral fellows and PhDs from the member Colleges. Development and management of the LCIRAH website will be another task. The post holder will have a higher education to degree level qualification or substantive relevant experience and experience in coordinating projects within a complex, multi-partner institutional environment. They will have proven financial management experience including drafting and monitoring budgets and preparing project financial reports, as well as experience in providing administrative support for meetings/committees. Strong communications and inter-personal skills will be important, in order to work effectively across different Colleges and disciplines. Experience in supporting academic research is desirable as is experience with website development.

    The post is part-time position (0.4 FTE) and fixed-term until 31 st December 2020. The salary will be on the Professional salary scale Grade 5 in the range £34,854 to £40,011 pro-rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in Bloomsbury Square, London.
