| Home / College Guide / Union president talks antisemitism, free speech on campuses |
| Posted on Tuesday, July 15 @ 00:00:49 PDT |

Some elected officials rallied Monday to defend the City University of New York school system and condemn congressional Republicans.
On Tuesday, CUNY’s chancellor, alongside leaders from U.C. Berkeley and Georgetown, will testify before the House Education and Workforce Committee.
The hearings will focus on antisemitism on college campuses, but advocates and officials are pushing back.
They say the hearings are only an excuse to undermine freedom of speech on campus, and to create reasons to slash federal funding for universities.
For full disclosure, NY1 political anchor Errol Louis has been an adjunct professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY for the last 12 years, and is a member of the Professional Staff Congress.
James Davis, the union’s president, joined “Inside City Hall” on Monday to discuss more.
