It looks like the Tennessee Volunteers might have gained a high-profile fan in Timothée Chalamet. The Oscar-nominated actor recently caught the attention of Vols enthusiasts by donning orange and white checkerboard overalls in a social media post, sparking plenty of chatter among the Tennessee faithful.
Now, Timothée Chalamet might be best known for captivating audiences in films like “Dune,” “Wonka,” and the Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown,” but he’s no stranger to the sports arena either. Chalamet doesn’t shy away from showcasing his sports enthusiasm, as was evident when he made an appearance as a guest picker on College GameDay last December.
While some critics thought his appearance was a promotional stint for “A Complete Unknown,” Chalamet proved them wrong by doing his homework. He was the lone picker to nail the MAC Championship Game prediction, demonstrating he knows his way around the field as well as the silver screen.
Chalamet’s fandom doesn’t stop at college football. Recently, he was also spotted courtside, hyping up the New York Knicks at an NBA game, proving he spreads his sports passion across different arenas and leagues.
So, is Timothée Chalamet a bona fide Tennessee fan? That might still be up for debate.
However, inviting him to be the GameDay guest picker on Rocky Top this fall could be the ultimate test of his allegiance. Until then, Vols fans can only speculate whether Chalamet’s checkerboard ensemble was just a fashion statement or a sign of true fandom.
