Graftons 6-foot-8 senior Brody Lillemoen in rare company with 48-point performance Story by Grand Forks Herald Tom Miller, Grand Forks Herald Sat, January 10, 2026 at 1:36 AM UTC · 3 min read
Jan. 9—GRAND FORKS — At 6-foot-8, Grafton senior Brody Lillemoen is one of the taller North Dakota boys basketball players in the area.
That doesnt mean Lillemoen isnt afraid to stretch the court with his shooting.

The 48-point showing is believed to be a school record. After Lillemoen scored 41 points last season against East Grand Forks Senior High, Graftons athletic department did some research and believes Lance Anderson held the school record with 42 in the 1980s and Anthony Kliniske had 41 in 2008.
It felt good to finally get in a rhythm, Lillemoen said. That was a nice feeling. My teammates were giving me the ball and making nice passes, too. Everyone else was hitting shots, as well, so that helps.
In the Langdon game, Lillemoen was 17-for-25 from the field, 7-for-12 on treys and 7-for-8 from the foul line.

Lillemoen shot around 30 percent from 3-point range last season and is hitting at 42 percent through four games in the 2025-26 season. The big performance had Lillemoens scoring average up at 29.5 points per game. On Thursday night, he poured in 31 points in a win over Thompson.
Hes not the only tall scorer for the Spoilers. Reggie Rice, a 6-foot-6 senior, averages more than 20.0 points per game. Rice had 28 points in Graftons win over Thompson on Thursday.
Its definitely a great 1-2 punch, Riley Lillemoen said. Were trying to fill the other pieces and gain experience at our other spots right now.

Legendary figure Steve Blehm of the North Dakota School of the Deaf holds the state record at 85 points in a game in 1971.
According to Hoopster, only one North Dakota player in the bottom two divisions has reached 60 points in the last 48 years: Walker Braaten of Westhope-Newburg scored 60 in 2025.
Lillemoen said hed like to play college basketball next season but hasnt made any decisions of where he plans to play next season.
The Spoilers finished short of the state tournament last season, falling to Four Winds-Minnewaukan in the regional tournament.
Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Grafton is off to a 4-1 start with the only loss coming to Region 1 leader Central Cass. The Spoilers sit atop Region 2 but will have tough competition from Four Winds and Devils Lake, among others, come tournament time.
The Spoilers are adjusting to life without 6-foot-7 Kyler Droog, whos now at Mayville State for baseball. Droog was a key figure for the Spoilers the last few seasons.
That was a big hit for us with scoring, rebound and defense, Riley Lillemoen said. Were getting in the swing of things and had just two games before Christmas. Were kind of just getting rolling. Hopefully, we can find a groove. We have youth and inexperience, and these guys havent played as a group much, so were finding our way.
