Previous Next BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Kym Marshs love life from dating EastEnders and Coronation Steet actors, having children with a builder to marrying an army major MyLondon 3 days ago Charlotte Bateman Last week Kym Marsh was confirmed as the second celebrity to join the lineup of this series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. The actress, 46, is best known for her role as Michelle Conor in Coronation Street from 2006 to 2019. And while she is now happily married, Marsh’s tumultuous love life and numerous exes from soap land have been well-documented in the headlines. Before becoming famous, the star met Dave Cunliffe, a builder and the father of two of her children- Emilie and David- in a karaoke pub in her home town of Whiston, Merseyside, in 1994. The couple went on to get engaged, but never hitched. They split up in 1999, a year after daughter Emilie was born. Her TV appearance led to her next romance this time with Eastenders actor Jack Ryder, who played Jamie Mitchell.

The pair met in a BBC canteen when she was a guest on Top of the Pops in 2001. Just a year later, they got married at St Albans parish church, Hertfordshire, in August 2002 and sold the wedding photos to OK Magazine for a reported £300,000. It was announced in 2008, two years after Marsh landed her role on Corrie, that the couple had decided to go their separate ways. They were officially divorced in 2009. Marsh’s love life moved from Walford to Chester as she started dating Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas in real life. In 2010, the couple were thrilled to announce they were expecting a baby boy. But at just 21 weeks Marsh went into labour due to a condition that meant her body was rejecting the baby. Sadly the baby boy Archie died just minutes after being born. The couple later welcomed a baby girl named Polly into the world in 2011. They married in September of 2012 but were divorced by 2014. During the divorce proceedings, Marsh had a fling with her Corrie co-star Oliver Mellor in 2013. After they split he told The Mirror: “We planned a future together. We loved each other and we weren’t afraid to say it. It wasn’t something we intended to happen, but we couldn’t stop our feelings.

” The actor, who played the role of Dr Matt Carter, has been happily married to lingerie model Rhian Sugden since 2018. Moving away from soapland, Marsh’s next ex was personal trainer Dan Hopper. They started dating in 2014 and after a whirlwind romance got engaged in December that same year. However, just five months later they broke up in May 2015. Marsh is currently married to Army Major Scott Ratcliffe. Meeting in 2018, they have since got married in October 2021. Marsh has frequently opened up about how she struggles with Scott having to go on tour as part of the army. In 2019, she told The Sun: “There is always anxiety, it is always stressful when he goes away. There may not be an actual war threat currently but there’s always a risk when you’re in these dangerous places.” © Getty Kym Marsh is seen leaving the BBC studios with Scott Ratcliff in January 2022 She also claimed that she felt lucky that the lockdown had allowed her to spend more time with Scott, telling The Sun: “He’s actually home. He was due to go to staff college in September but we’ve ended spending most of the year together. “I feel so lucky to be in this situation. It has given me the opportunity to have more time with Scott, my son David, my daughters Emilie and Polly and the rest of my family.

I’m not taking those things for granted.” The pair had a military-themed wedding at the Royal Memorial Chapel at Sandhurst. Other contestants that have been confirmed for the upcoming series of Strictly include Ellie Simmonds, Fleur East, Tony Adam, Molly Rainford, Ellie Taylor, Matt Goss, Tyler West, Jayde Adams and Helen Skelton.
