Corrupt Leftwing Soros DA Alvin Bragg Threatens Trump With 30 Days of Jail Time If He Exercises His Right, as a Candidate for President, to Criticize His Hyperpoliticized Unjust Prosecution
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed a motion Tuesday to hold former President Trump in contempt of court, claiming he violated the gag order imposed upon him by publishing three social media posts relating to two known witnesses in his criminal trial -- Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels. Bragg is urging Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan to also warn Trump that future violations of the gag order can be punished not only with additional fines, but also with a term of incarceration of up to thirty days. Merchan last month imposed a gag order on Trump, due to his prior extrajudicial statements. Merchan said they established a sufficient risk to the administration of justice. Merchan ordered that Trump cannot make or direct others to make public statements about witnesses concerning their potential participation or about counsel in the case -- other than Bragg -- or about court staff, DA staff or family members of staff.
So Trump cant point out that Merchans Democrat-operative daughter works for a company that fundraised $33 million on the promise to get Trump convicted.
So Trump cant say anything when the DA fills the jury with leftwing ringers.
...So Trump is not allowed to bring up Stormy Daniels past statements, which she now alleges are false, to impeach her credibililty. Remember, hes not just a defendant in a corrupt prosecution -- hes running for president of the United States. He is not like the normal defendant where you could, maybe, say, You can make those arguments in court, but not for public consumption. Hes a presidential candidate -- he has to make arguments in his defense for public consumption. And the corrupt Soros DA is following through with his plan to simply make it illegal for Trump to run for office. Megyn Kelly made a good point: the public interest in Trumps comments is an important factor here, too. Were not just talking about Trumps right to speak -- we are talking about our own right, as citizens charged with electing a president, to receive Trumps statements so we can weigh them in making our votes. Even CNNs legal analyst Ellie Honig is mocking

Things to remember about Trumps Manhattan trial:
Alvin Bragg is a far left prosecutor who campaigned on getting Trump.
Alvin Bragg is bootstrapping a common misdemeanor into a felony (because the statute of limitations ran out on the misdemeanor).
To do that, Bragg is using Article 175 Section 10 of New York Penal Law. That requires Bragg to prove that Trump is guilty of falsifying business records and then show he did so with the intention of committing a second crime.
The huge issue for Bragg? No one has any idea what the second crime is! Bragg hasnt articulated it. Insanity.
The DOJ, which jumps at any chance to get Trump, and Braggs predecessor Cy Vance each declined to prosecute Trump for this.
Judge Juan Merchan donated to Biden for President in July 2020. His adult daughter is the president and partner for a Democrat consulting firm that makes money working with far-left candidates who attack Trump for a living.
When Trump and his attorneys pointed this out, Merhcan gagged him, violating his First Amendment rights.

Ignore this. Just stay out of New York and dare any other jurisdiction in any other state in the union to make a political arrest based on a corrupt bench warrant and extradite him to New York. Theres no way to cover that up, and it would happen on full display.
Now, I think that *would* happen, consequences be damned, and it would then be open season on any politician through corrupt prosecution in State A and arrest and extradition by a friendly in State B, and it would be extremely corrosive in all respects, but this is the world *they* built. And if it doesnt happen, then Trump likely lost nothing.

In 2023, he then elevated a misdemeanor to a felony that both the DOJ and his predecessor refused to go after so he could indict the Republican nominee for president.

Federal is usually a little better because they are appointed for life and usually had real qualifications. Although Obama started poisoning the federal courts with incompetent DEI hires, so this is less true now than it was 10-15 years ago.
NY state judges have to run for reelection every x years and the only way to do that it be part of the local political machine, which is 99% Democrap. And the judges must do their masters bidding or else. Its totally corrupt.

I dont think they ever intended to win, ultimately. The charges Bragg brought in this case are a joke. He took a misdemeanor case that even the very political SDNY refused to prosecute and somehow shoehorned it into a felony and is bringing charges that have never been brought before. He could only get a win with judge as corrupt as this one.
The goal was to hurt the campaign just like all the other charges. Make Trump fight with both hands tied behind his back. It hasnt worked at all at least so far.

And in this case, you have the highest possible speech interest (major political speech, always afforded the highest deference under the Constitution).
And the threat here amounts to nothing more than a (likely fake) hecklers veto of supposed online threats --always a crap justification under the law.
Interestingly, the nature of the gag order also belies the whole theory of the prosecution. Trump was well within his rights to use campaign funds to protect his reputation (furthering his candidacy). Much as preventing him from speaking is, by definition, a harm to his candidacy (therefore by definition a political speech infringement).

Trump was well within his rights to use campaign funds to protect his reputation (furthering his candidacy). Much as preventing him from speaking is, by definition, a harm to his candidacy (therefore by definition a political speech infringement).
